Defib & bleed control combined cabinet

Our new 2-in-1 cabinet!

We’ve recently launched a defib and bleed control cabinet and we are already seeing some significant interest in it.   The new cabinet allows communities to have access to a combination of life saving equipment quickly and easily.

The cabinet is insulated and can hold both a defibrillator and a bleed kit inside it – so it is slightly larger than the regular defib cabinet we stock.  It is 500mm square and 200mm deep (our regular cabinets are 500x400mm).

Catastrophic bleeds are most commonly seen in falls or injuries at home

Traumatic bleeds are often associated with stab injuries, but the home is the most common location for an accident to happen.

Every year across the UK, there are approximately 6,000 deaths as a result of home accidents*.  Someone who is severely bleeding can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes^.  Falls are the most common accidents and can cause serious injury at any time of life.

A bleed kit contains all the necessary items needed to treat a catastrophic bleed whilst waiting for an ambulance to arrive.  The bleed kits we provide are identiacal to the ones found on ambulances throughout the UK.

Save a life

The statistics are startling on cardiac arrests.  Every year in the UK, 60,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals. If a defibrillator is used and effective CPR is performed within 3-5 minutes of cardiac arrest, the patient’s chance of survival increases from 6% to 74% – defibrillators really do save lives.

The defibrilliator will only shock if someone is in cardiac arrest, added to which it will also talk the bystander or first aider through the steps they need to take in order to perform life saving treatment.  To listen to how a defib sounds, click here

Combined cabinet options

We offer both locked or unlocked cabinets which can be accessed 24/7 in your community, and should be register with your local ambulance service and The Circuit.  If you are wondering which is best, please read our article here.

Customise your cabinet

You can still customise the cabinet – so choose the colour and the message you may want on the front.  We provide it locked or unlocked, so if it is situated on a large manufacturing site, it would ideally be unlocked.
