The Daniel Baird Foundation Emergency Bleed Control Kit was designed by West Midlands Ambulance Service for the public to use in an emergency to control a catastrophic bleed, either from an accident, medical emergency or attack. Whilst no training is required to use the kits, research shows that in an emergency someone who has undertaken training will act more confidentally and achieve a better result having underaken some training.
Here at Turtle Medical we have a wide range of training options available including:
Fully certified bleed control training courses for up to 12 people at a time
Overview, hands-on training courses for larger groups (non-certified)
Full Emergency First Aid at Work training course (1 day, 3 day, etc) with bleed control add-ons
In addition to these courses we have created some free training videos to show how to use the different components of a bleed control kit. These are intended to give an overview, but do not replace the benefits from in-person, hands-on training.
We recommend everyone who buys a bleed control kit or a PAcT kit watch these videos to familiarise themselves with the key medical components, we have also seen them used in classrooms to teach children about bleed control and in youth groups such as Scout & Guide groups. The videos can be used for awareness training for use of the Daniel Baird Foundation bleed control kits and Turtle Medical’s Enhanced PAcT Kits, however, please do not create copies the videos or use them in paid training course without written consent.
